Connect Claude

Claude can use Operately through a custom remote MCP connector. After you add the connector and complete OAuth, Claude can read and optionally update Operately data based on the access you grant and your Operately permissions.

Before you start#

  • Have access to an Operately company you can authorize.
  • Use this MCP server URL on Operately Cloud: https://app.operately.com/mcp
  • For a self-hosted installation, use https://YOUR_INSTANCE/mcp

Connect Operately#

  1. Open Customize → Connectors or go to claude.ai/customize/connectors.
  2. Click +, then select Add custom connector.
  3. Enter a name such as Operately and the Operately MCP server URL.
  4. Leave Advanced settings empty.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click Connect, then sign in to Operately, select the company, and approve the requested access.

Use Operately in a conversation#

Adding the connector does not automatically turn it on for every chat.

  1. Open a conversation and click the + button in the lower left of the chat interface.
  2. Choose Connectors.
  3. Toggle Operately on for that conversation.

Write actions usually require confirmation in Claude. Review the tool input carefully before you approve changes.
