Activity email delivery

Operately batches activity emails to reduce noise. You can choose whether direct mentions should also be batched or arrive right away, and how long the batch window lasts.

Delivery mode#

There are two options:

Batched notifications — All activity emails wait for the buffer window, are grouped together, and sent as a single email. This is the default.

Direct mentions are instant — Emails for direct mentions are sent right away. All other activity emails still wait for the buffer window and are sent together.

How to change your delivery mode#

1. Click on your avatar or initials in the top-right corner of the screen.
2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
3. Click Notification Settings.
4. Under Activity emails, select your preferred option.
5. Click Save Changes.

Buffer window#

The buffer window controls how long Operately waits before sending batched emails. A shorter window means more frequent emails; a longer window groups more activity into each email.

Available options: 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes.

The buffer window applies to all batched emails — including activity emails in “Direct mentions are instant” mode.
