Frequently Asked Questions

Is there really no per-seat pricing?

Correct. Each plan covers a fixed number of users for one flat price. Add team members freely within your tier without worrying about escalating costs.

What happens if I exceed my user limit?

You can upgrade to the next tier at any time. We prorate the cost so you only pay the difference for the remainder of your billing period.

Can I self-host Operately for free?

Yes. Operately is open source and free to self-host with unlimited users. Cloud pricing applies only to our hosted service. See the self-hosted overview or the installation guide to get started.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No credit card required for the Free plan. Start using Operately immediately and upgrade when you are ready.

What does annual billing save?

Annual billing gives you two months free compared to monthly billing. You pay for 10 months and get 12.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel anytime with no fees. Your subscription stays active until the end of your billing period.

What if I need more storage?

You can add storage in 1 TB blocks for $49/month each. Most teams never exceed the included storage.
